Cackling Geese - Mallard
As October passes fewer and fewer birds species are around. Mostly Geese and Mallards after the 2nd week of October. Dark Eyed Juncos are still around but they tend to stay later than most migratory birds.

Deer
I got the edge of a clearing and this Deer was standing about 25 feet (8 meters) away. I stopped and slowly made my way into the open. The Deer watched me and approached to about 15 feet then slowly angled away from me and wandered into the bush.

Deer approximately 15 feet away

Foliage

Cackling Geese, may be some some Canada Geese in the mix too.
