Have tried two Google+ alternatives:
Mewe https://mewe.com as Craig Stewart Manitoba Canada
Pluspora https://pluspora.com/users/sign_in
In the brief time I've used them I prefer Mewe. Pages load much faster for me. Privacy policy is better. Both are similar to Google+. Hash tags are used which is new to me but not that difficult, if I can remember to use them.
12 Oct update - Have tried both MeWe and Pluspora. I prefer MeWe and will continue with it. Both seem to be good sites I just prefer MeWe.
Sorry to see Google+ go.
